Percival Betz Kelly, having secured in California on December 15, 1954, an interlocutory order authorizing a decree of divorce at the expiration of one year and awarding her custody of her minor child, Bruce Thaddeus Kelly, instituted suit against her husband, Nehemiah Kelly, Jr.,1 on December 23, 1954, in the Family Court for the Parish of East Baton Rouge by way of a petition for a writ of habeas corpus, seeking recognition of the California judgment and praying that Kelly be ordered to produce in court and show cause why he had kept confined and deprived o,f his…
