I. FACTS AND PROCEEDINGS

After a marriage of twenty-nine years, Jerry and Margaret Conner separated on August 18, 1999. Their divorcee trial was held on December 14, 2000.

The main issue in this appeal is the division of retirement benefits. During the marriage, Jerry worked as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration. He became disabled in 1995 at the age of forty-two.
