E. M. Howard was the owner of the Pineville Hotel, situated in the city of Pineville, Ky. The Commercial Union Assurance Company, United States Fire Insurance Company, Yorkshire Insurance Company, Rhode Island Insurance Company, Sun Insurance Company, Pennsylvania Fire Insurance Company, and the Home Fire and Marine Insurance Company issued and delivered to him their respective policies insuring the property in the sum of $42,000, for the period of time stated in the policies, against loss by fire.
