OPINION
KESSLER, Judge.
¶ 1 A jury found Appellant Thomas R. (“Thomas R.”) to be a sexually violent person (“SVP”) and he was committed to the Arizona Community Protection and Treatment Center (“Center”) pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes (“AR.S.”) section 36-3707(B)(1) (2009). 1 On appeal, Thomas R. asserts that res judicata or collateral estop-pel barred the State from bringing a second SVP case against him in the absence of a new conviction for a sexually violent offense because a 2003 jury had already found he was not an SVP.
