ROTH, Circuit Judge:

The plaintiffs’ attorney, Mark S. Guralnick, appeals the district court’s imposition of sanctions in the amount of $7,000 pursuant to Fed.R.Civ.P. II.2 Several months after the district court disposed of the underlying action through a grant of summary judgment on some claims and the dismissal of others, it imposed sanctions on its own initiative.
