After a jury trial, the defendant was convicted of the offense of robbery, a Class 2 felony (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 18—1). Upon review of his criminal history, he was sentenced to a term of seven years’ imprisonment (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 1005 — 8—l(aX5)).
