Elijah S. Alexander died intestate in Chicago in February, 1886. Appellants were appointed administrators of his estate by the Probate Court of Cook County. In April, 1887, appellee filled in that court a claim against the estate for eighteen years’ service in nursing and caring for the parents of the deceased, residing at Brattleboro, Vermont, under a contract with deceased, the amount of the claim being $18,000 and $12,299 interest thereon. Another item of $10,000 was included in the claim, but as it was withdrawn by remittitur, it is of no importance in the case. The claim was allowed to…
