The Carnegie Trust Company was incorporated by and was subject to the laws of Pennsylvania, one of which provides “that, in case of any distribution [of the assets of such a company]......in the course of its liquidation by legal process or otherwise,” priority is to be given to the claims of depositors. The First National Bank of Carnegie was organized under the acts of Congress relating to national banks, one of which provides that for its “contracts, debts and engagements” each stockholder shall be individually responsible “to the amount of his stock therein,…
