I.Introduction
The plaintiffs in this case are suing the defendants for allegedly utilizing unfair and deceptive settlement practices on home mortgage loan closings. The plaintiffs are a group of nine District of Columbia homeowners and the defendants are three mortgage settlement companies— Mid-Atlantic Settlement Services, Inc.
