This is the case of the family tie that came untied. Carol Pulitzer-Polster seeks damages from her uncle Samuel C. Pulitzer, because of his alleged improprieties when acting as the sole voting trustee of Wembley Industries, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of men’s neckwear. Before this suit was filed in federal court, Carol, her mother and her sister had brought suit in Louisiana state court arising out of the same dispute. The federal district court dismissed the suit under Rule 19 because of Carol’s failure to join her mother and sister as indispensable…
