Heard on petition for writ of prohibition to enjoin respondent fro,m hearing charges preferred against petitioner in his capacity as a police officer.

Upon the 8th day of March, 1918, and for a long time prior thereto the petitioner was a member of the police force of the city of Providence. On said 8th day of March he was “suspended from duty pending investigation” by the super intendent of police and was served with the following charges:

“Officer James Keats,

Precinct One.
