Defendant Louis Morales pled guilty to one count of aggravated battery with a firearm and was sentenced to 11 years’ imprisonment. Defendant subsequently filed a pro se postconviction petition to vacate his plea, which the circuit court summarily dismissed as frivolous and patently without merit.
