The Kansas Legislature has provided a statutory framework for the fair and efficient disposition of the estates of deceased persons. Part of this is providing for time frames during which claims on the estate assets must be made.
The majority recognizes that the Kansas statutes are written to include a broad range of claimants against the decedents estate.
