The petitioner, Tennessee Gas Transmission Company, condemned an easement for gas pipe line purposes on a straight strip of land thirty feet wide, 2894 feet long and 1.99 acres in area out of, and more or less bisecting, a tract of 229.15 acres of the respondents Nilson located about % mile from the City of El Campo in Wharton County.
