PARKER, District Judge.

This action was commenced in the district court of Washington county. The plaintiff in his complaint declares upon two promissory notes, one dated April 20, 1922, in the principal sum of $1,917, and one dated October 28, 1922, in the principal sum of $5,481. Subsequent to the filing of the complaint the defendant, William Chinn, filed a confession of judgment in favor of the plaintiff for the amounts prayed for in plaintiff’s complaint.
