It is insisted by the counsel for the defendants that the redemption attempted by the plaintiff, E. Hall, was void both at law and in equity, because he failed to pay the precise sum required by law to be paid, (the bid and 10 per cent interest;) and because the redemption money was not paid personally to the purchaser or to the officer who made the sale.
