SENTELLE, Chief Judge:

Adham Mohammed Ali Awad, a detainee at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, appeals from the district court’s denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus. We find no reversible error in the district court’s finding that Awad was “part of’ al Qaeda in December of 2001. Awad admits that he traveled to Afghanistan in mid-September 2001 for the purpose of engaging in armed conflict against U.S. and allied forces.
