The defendants appeal from the judgment. The complaint purports to state a cause of action in damages for a libel published by defendants of and concerning the plaintiff. The alleged libel consisted of a cartoon published in a daily newspaper in Los Angeles, known as the “Los Angeles Record.” The Record Publishing Company was the publisher and Dana Sleeth was the editor of said paper.
