Plaintiff was first employed by defendant in 1921, and remained so employed until the spring of 1935, at which time he was discharged. Thereupon he became associated with two others in a linen supply business, which was operated for a period of approximately one year, at the conclusion of which the business was sold to defendant, the contract of sale providing that the sellers, including plaintiff, were not to engage in the general linen service and laundry business, or a similar business, in certain specified territory for a period of 10 years.
