The defendant is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (a gravity knife) and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree (cocaine). A hearing was held before this court to determine whether probable cause existed to arrest the defendant and whether a gravity knife recovered from defendant’s car and cocaine recovered during defendant’s arrest are admissible against him at trial.
