Jayson Thomas Smith appeals an order of the Pierce County Superior Court denying his motion to withdraw guilty pleas to a charge of second degree murder and two charges of second degree assault. He contends on appeal that all of the pleas were involuntary and, in one instance, entered without an understanding of the nature of the charge. Smith also asserts that the trial court erred in ordering the sentence on one of the second degree assault convictions to run consecutively to the sentences imposed on the conviction for second degree murder and the other conviction for second degree assault.…
