The issues here are, first, whether the evidence at trial supported a jury verdict of punitive damages against a man found liable for molesting his seven-year-old nephew 1 and, second, whether a punitive damage award of $1.1 million on top of a compensatory award of $150,000 is excessive as a matter of state law or federal constitutional law.
