By an information filed in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, this defendant, Carl Nasello, John Messino, Tony Mangercino and three others were jointly charged with the murder of James H. Smith, a traffic officer in Kansas City, Missouri. Severances were taken, and, at a separate trial, the jury found this defendant guilty of murder in the first degree and assessed his punishment at imprisonment in the penitentiary for life.
