The defendant, Eutues White, was convicted of murder on a jury verdict in the circuit com! of St. Clair County and sentenced to the Illinois State Penitentiary for a minimum term of 199 years and a maximum term of 200 years. On direct appeal this court remanded the cause to the trial court for a second evidentiary hearing to determine whether the defendant’s confession was properly admitted into evidence and to resentence the defendant pursuant to the new Code of Criminal Corrections.
