This appeal stems from an action instituted by plaintiff Robert F. Reiser, as administrator of the estate of Lionel J. Edmondson, deceased, against Illinois Central Railroad Company for damages by reason of the alleged wrongful death of Lionel J. Edmondson. The trial of the cause resulted in a hung jury. The trial court had reserved its ruling on defendant’s motion for directed verdict at the close of all the evidence. Defendant also filed a post-trial motion renewing the motion for directed verdict.
