liThe defendant, Charles Oliver Burns, was charged by bill of information with two counts of simple burglary, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:62, and one count of attempted simple burglary, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:62 and 14:27. Following a jury trial, he was convicted of one count of simple burglary and two counts of attempted simple burglary. The defendant was sentenced to serve twelve years in prison at hard labor for the simple burglary conviction and six years at hard labor for each of the attempted simple burglary convictions.
