This is an appeal from the district court’s order granting summary judgment in favor of respondent GNLV Corporation. GNLV was the defendant below in a suit claiming negligence and alleging wrongful death. Appellant Ahiliya Lee’s husband, Bobby Lee Sturms, choked to death when his upper airway became occluded by food he had been eating in GNLV’s restaurant. On appeal, Lee argues that GNLV breached its duty of reasonable care owed to Sturms when its employees failed to administer the Heimlich maneuver to him.
