"When a passenger in a street car is injured by a collision between that ear and a steam railway train, she has an action against both to recover the damages. The action is for the recovery of five thousand dollars as damages for injuries to the plaintiff’s wife caused by a collision of railroad trains, and was instituted against the New Orleans and Carrollton Company alone, but by a supplemental petition the Illinois Central Railroad was made a co-defendant. Mrs. Holzab was a passenger upon the Carrollton road, one of the numerous tramways of' this city, and the collision occurred at the intersection of Baronne and St. Joseph streets, in the middle of which latter street the Illinois Central…
