¶ 1. In March 2005, Lorenzo Tarver was indicted in a two-count indictment by the grand jury of Leflore County for (1) possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, transfer, or distribute and (2) possession of a deadly weapon by a convicted felon. Following a jury trial in June 2006, Tarver was convicted of the crime in Count I, which was possession of marijuana with intent to sell, transfer, or distribute.
