Debt, on a judgment of the court of common pleas of the state of Ohio. The case was tried on the general issue closed to the court. It appeared by the record of the judgment, which was offered in evidence by the plaintiff, that the suit in which it was rendered was brought to the October Term of the court, in the county of Lorain, in the year 1847, and that actual service was made upon the defendant, who appeared in court by S. Bagg, bis attorney, and filed a plea in defense. The cause was thereupon continued from term to term, until the May term 1855, at which term the following entry was…

If the record, of the judgment on which this action was brought, and which was adduced in evidence on the trial, is defective because it did not sufficiently show, either expressly or by legal presumption, that the, court rendering that judgment had jurisdiction to proceed in the case, it is at least very questionable whether such defect, could be supplied by the further evidence introduced, consisting of th.e. depositions and, agreement;. but we n,eed. not determine the. question of their admissibility, as we think that t.he record of the judgment was, of itself sufficient, without the aid…
