The defendant, James Wright, appeals from a judgment finding him guilty of bribery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, par. 33 — 1(d)) and official misconduct (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, par. 33 — 3(d)), and, for the offense of bribery, sentencing him to four years probation and imposing a $5,000 fine.

In February and March of 1979, the Secretary of State’s Office conducted an investigation of the Lombard driver’s license facility. As a part of the investigation a private investigator named DeArmas posed as an employer of illegal aliens, and contacted a man named Luis Rodriguez. DeArmas told…
