Plaintiff in error, Eddie Kirkrand, who appears pro se, was convicted in 1944 in the criminal court of Cook county of the crime of robbery while armed with a' dangerous weapon. The indictment charged armed robbery and set up in apt words a prior indictment and' conviction for burglary. He was tried by a jury and found guilty of the crime of armed robbery and that he had theretofore been convicted of burglary in manner and form as charged in the indictment. After a motion for a new trial had been overruled he was sentenced to the penitentiary for life, which was the maximum term for the…
