Cross appeals from an order of the Supreme Court (Kramer, J.), entered August 31, 1999 in Schenectady County, which, inter alia, denied the parties’ motions for leave to serve amended pleadings.
Plaintiff commenced this negligence litigation in December 1990 to recover damages for personal injuries he sustained on August 22, 1985 while working in a sawmill owned by defendant Henry Schweizer (hereinafter defendant).1 At the time of the accident, plaintiff was 15 years old and his father was employed full time as a foreman at the mill.
