The State of Wisconsin appeals a final order dismissing its collection action against chiropractor John W. Dunn. The State argues that the circuit court erred when it ruled that the State lacked the statutory authority to sue to collect costs assessed by the Wisconsin Chiropractic Examining Board (the board) as part of a disciplinary proceeding. The State also maintains that it has inherent authority to bring an action for the board to collect the assessed costs.
