ACTION on the case. On the 24th October, 1815, A. T. Patterson, of Liverpool, shipped on board the brig Hope, of which the defendant, Thomas Ingledevb, was the owner, a quantity of copper, which, by the bill of lading, was to be delivered to the plaintiff, Robert E. Griffith, or his assigns, in Philadelphia. The copper belonged to the shipper, and the freight was payable in Liverpool.

ACTION on the case. On the 24th October, 1815, A. T. Patterson, of Liverpool, shipped on board the brig Hope, of which the defendant, Thomas Ingledevb, was the owner, a quantity of copper, which, by the bill of lading, was to be delivered to the plaintiff, Robert E. This is an action on the case, brought by Robert E. Griffith against Thomas Ingledew, owner of the ship Hope, foi negligence 'in the carriage of a quantity of copper shipped at Liverpool, by A. T. Patterson, to be delivered at the port of Philadelphia, to the plaintiff or his assigns. Although, by the bills of lading signed by Joseph Hall, the master of the ship, the copper was to be delivered to the plaintiff, yet it appeared by the invoice that it was shipped on the account of Patterson.
