About the year 1836, John Browning, a resident of Alabama, furnished his son, Joseph A. Browning, a young man about eighteen years of age, with $1,000, and sent him to Arkansas to purchase lands, directing him to take the title to the lands in his own name. It seems that he entered lands with the money in Clark County, and obtained patents therefor from the United States. He made appellant, Michael Bozeman, who had married his sister (of the whole blood) Lucy Ann, and settled in Clark County, his agent, to take charge of and pay taxes on the lands, they being situated in his…
