The plaintiffs sue for the infringement of letters patent No. 461,787, dated October 20, 1891, granted to Montgomery H. Watson, for an improvement in general indexes. The patented index is designed for use in connection with hooks in which are recorded the names of individuals, and facts and transactions; for example, entries in the order hook or appearance docket of a court, or the record of deeds or mortgages in the hooks of a recorder.
