Plaintiff Gidatex, S.r.L. (“Gidatex”) sued Campaniello Imports, Ltd., Campaniello Imports of Florida, Ltd., and Campaniello Enterprises, Inc. (collectively “Campaniel-lo”) for violations of the Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 1114(1) and 1125(a), common law trademark infringement, and common law unfair competition. Gidatex’s claims arose from Campaniello’s alleged use of the trademark of Saporiti Italia (“Sapori-ti”), an Italian furniture company whose assets are owned by Gidatex.
