liA jury convicted the defendant of one count of armed robbery with a firearm. The trial court sentenced the defendant to eighteen years at hard labor, to be served without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. The trial court also ordered that the defendant serve an additional five years at hard labor, again without benefits, in light of the firearm penalty enhancement.
