Raynard Cook appeals his conviction for felony murder while in the commission of aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of his mother, Josephine Holmes Cook. He challenges the denial of his motion for new trial on the ground that the State failed to provide exculpatory evidence in violation of Brady; 1 the admission into evidence of his statements to police; the introduction of evidence of his marijuana use and sale; the admission of evidence “attacking his character”; and the effectiveness of his trial counsel.
