The unprivileged publication, in writing or print, of a false charge that another is guilty of a crime, ór of a false charge- which tends to expose another to public hatred or contempt, entitles the person thus defamed to recover of the publisher full compensation in damages for all the injury to his reputation, business, and feelings which the defamatory publication caused.
