This was an action on the case brought by Lizzie E. Eldridge against the North Chicago Street Eailroad Company, to recover damages for a personal injury received by the plaintiff while attempting to alight from one of the defendant’s cars. The negligence charged in the declaration consisted of the defendant’s carelessly and negligently using, for the transportation of its passengers, a car so unfinished and incompleted, and in such bad and unfinished condition, that, by reason thereof, the plaintiff’s clothes were caught on the car while she was alighting therefrom, whereby she was thrown…
