OPINION

{¶ 1} Appellant, Craig A. Clinton, appeals from the May 11, 2006 judgment entry of the Ashtabula Municipal Court, in which he was sentenced for criminal mischief.

{¶ 2} On July 13, 2004, appellee, the state of Ohio, filed a complaint against appellant charging him with two counts of assault, misdemeanors of the first degree, in violation of R.C. 2903.13(A), and one count of criminal mischief, a misdemeanor of the first degree, in violation of R.C. 2909.07(A). Appellant pleaded not guilty at his initial appearance on July 22, 2004.
