This is a review of a published decision of the court of appeals, Olson v. Connerly, 151 Wis. 2d 663, 445 N.W.2d 706 (Ct. App. 1989), which reversed in part a judgment of the Circuit Court for Eau Claire county, Judge Gregory A. Peterson. The issue presented is as follows: In determining whether an employee was acting within the scope of his or her employment, is it essential, under Wisconsin law, to consider whether the employee's conduct was actuated by a purpose to serve the employer?
