Karl Fultz was charged with the crime of joyriding, MCL 750.414; MSA 28.646. During the pendency of the case, defendant was sent to the Center for Forensic Psychiatry for an examination on the issue of criminal responsibility. The certified forensic examiner concluded that the defendant was mentally ill and that, because of his mental illness, he was unable to conform his conduct to the requirements of law.
