On March 20, 1981, appellants filed a complaint against ap-pellees Avco Corporation (“Avco”) and Cincinnati Electronics Corporation (“C.E.”). The complaint, containing five claims for relief, requested the court to declare the case to be a class action. On June 19, 1981, appellants filed a “Motion for order determining that action be maintained as a class action,” accompanied by a supporting memorandum.
