Defendant-appellant Frank Janto appeals his conviction and sentence of one count of murder in the second degree. On appeal, Janto argues that: (1) the trial court erred in denying his motion to suppress three statements made to the police; (2) the trial court erred in admitting certain items of evidence; (3) the prosecutor committed misconduct; (4) the trial court’s evaluation of his mental competency and fitness to proceed was inadequate; and (5) his trial counsel was ineffective.
