The record in this case presents the following facts: On the 19th September, 1854, John A. Vanzant and Martha A., his wife, executed to Isaiah Vanzant a mortgage on a certain lot of ground in Jacksonville, in Morgan county, together with other property, not specifically described, to which Martha A. was entitled from the estate of her deceased father, to secure the payment of a note payable to Isaiah Vanzant by John A.
