On April 13, 1917, the Commercial Security Company, appellant, sued J. W. Collins and C. R. Austin, as copartners, under the firm name of Collins-Austin Drug Company, on four negotiable notes, each in the sum of $200, dated February 14, 1916, payable to the order of Partin Manufacturing Company, due, respectively, 3, 4, 5, and 6 months after date, signed by Collins-Austin Drug Company, and indorsed to the security company by Partin Manufacturing Company before maturity and on the 21st day of February, 1916, and also sued for $7.70, protest fees, alleging that the notes were protested for…
