Mrs. Jane Cook, the appellant herein, instituted this action on May 8, 1961, against Ernest E. Douglas, the respondent herein, seeking damages for personal injuries allegedly received by her when the automobile driven by her' *375was struck in the rear by an automobile driven by said respondent. The answer of the respondent contained a general denial and also a plea of contributory negligence and recklessness.
